VIDCAT INTRODUCTION

VidCat Technologies Inc. was incorporated in 1994 with the express purpose of developing a state of the art mobile video system. In 2002 we developed prototypes to begin production of an Integrated Mobile Computer Video Logging and Encoding System expressly to address the markets in law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, military as well as those in transportation, public and private security. Since its inception VidCat has developed three specific product designs in accordance with the needs of law enforcement. These product designs incorporate needs analysis requirements at the low end entry level product through mid range full feature capability to the high end full function full feature system.
We have been involved in the First Responder market from a video perspective since 1994. The result of our hands on market experience and the extensive technology research has been the most effective tool available to law enforcement. We have designed the technology requirements of the future today.
VidCat has the ability to deliver a design set specific to the target industry segment while continuing to provide product migration paths at all levels. The design is feature rich and includes several unique design capabilities including built in Mobile Digital Video, Global Positioning, Wireless Internet, Cellular, Radio, Fingerprint Biometrics, Facial Recognition Scanning, ABA Magnetic Card Reader and Two Way Communication with Video and Audio links.
Hardware and software designs possess copyright and patent protection. The system designs are seamless and proprietary delivering a flexible, secure and simple to operate systems. The design brings both forward and backward compatibility enabling varying technologies currently in place with significant technology evolution paths. The design forward will allow support for a wide variety of communication and control devices while providing software to drive new innovative feature sets in all categories. It has the ability to function as the main command and control device capable of simplifying operator requirements through automatic program settings. The VidCat system can be effectively used in incident management situations, which, by definition, requires good communications among Police, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire and a Centralized Traffic Management Center (TMC).
THE HISTORY
Our design enhancements can provide additional resources for the Emergency Medical Services, through our ability to place the “Doctor at the Curbside”, EMS services have traditionally been comprised of many different vehicle-based systems similar to those typically found in law enforcement. They can realize significant benefits from digital communications between the vehicle and emergency room sites at the receiving hospital. VidCat is capable of providing full-motion video and audio capabilities between the EMS and a remote site. This can be crucial in attending to critically injured patients prior to their arrival at emergency care. Critical travel to care time is removed and this provides for street side care.
Fire Services would be provided with the ability to remotely monitor and assess, while providing HAZMAT and other warnings for fire services. Inventory assessments can be undertaken either from the vehicle, or from a remote site and information can be transmitted real time back to or from watch commander, paramedic, fire captain, or even directly to a fireman with an interactive voice and video capability.
The VidCat systems can also be configured to provide video retrieval from security systems within banks and other buildings. Depending on compatibility requirements this would provide a “look into” any situation before entering or immediate replay of events leading up to the emergency response. Utilizing remote monitoring software exclusively in our design would allow real time video and audio monitoring of live information and would be available to first responder teams allowing insights into situation responses that can be co-ordinated accordingly. Storage activities would be automatic and pre alarmed while database software can be developed to provide additional functionality for retrieval of archived information files. The first responder market is demanding off the shelf solutions as a cost-effective means of building consistency and serviceability. VidCat provides an off the shelf solution that provides seamless integration and total upgrade capability to incorporate future design enhancements.
This means we are not fixed to any one hardware design. We are able to encompass new software and technology advances without compromising our unique design or software sets. We are not vulnerable to limited shelf life products that can interrupt other product offerings.
As these market segments are often vulnerable to budget constraints each new product is assessed on a cost retrieval or safety benefit platform. As function specific hardware solutions are off the shelf we can maintain our basic product design life cycle much longer than some traditional offerings. VidCat is built to upgrade and simplify operator activity while ensuring health and safety factors.
The furtherance of technological advances in law enforcement has begun. The initial response is in the areas of collecting and disseminating crash data to increase public safety, specifically among the motoring public. The VidCat system product specifications have far surpassed the initial requirements including the provisions for the development of a safer environment for the vehicle operator. This includes the ability to control specific in-vehicle equipment and communications system. The system provides economies that can be realized by agencies of varying sizes. It enjoys capabilities allowing it to be universally adaptable to a wide variety of mission specific requirements.
